It’s so crazy to me how much Zoey has grown since we brought her home a month ago. This is how I’ve been tracking her weight. Her weight gain is pretty linear, and if she continues to gain 1.2 pounds per week, she will be about 30 pounds at six months. I anticipate her to be about 35 pounds full grown!
As far as training goes, she’s been doing better with crate training. I no longer have to wait up at 7AM to let her out and can usually sleep until 8:30AM. I don’t give her water after 9PM, which has really helped her not need to pee early in the morning. The crate we have is the Diggs crate (medium size). The Groov training aid has worked wonders for Zoey (of course we have the blush pink one). From peanut butter and bananas to pumpkin puree and chicken, she loves licking it in the crate. She soon learned that being in the crate means yummy food. Now when we are done getting her meal ready, she will run into the crate without us even saying a word! Potty training is still going well. She had one day of accidents, and we soon learned that it was probably because it was time to change the grass pellets in her litter box. The next day, we changed it, and she was back to pottying at the right spot.
We have still been taking her to puppy play sessions twice a week. She recently got to play with the big dogs, and I am so proud! She also got her second vaccine, so I’m counting down to the days when I can take her out to dog parks and no longer have to pay for puppy play sessions haha. As much as I love taking her there for socialization, it is not free!
And now onto the command tracker. Hoping to teach her the off command soon because she’s starting to be able to get on the couch!
